The vacancy
Job Purpose
Working with the Qualifications Team, you will contribute to the accreditation, reaccreditation and quality monitoring of licence to practise and post registration veterinary nursing programmes. Through the development and implementation of quality monitoring, the detection and resolution of problems and the delivery of satisfactory outcomes, you will provide confidence that the RCVS Standards Framework is adhered to by accredited educational institutions, its delivery sites, and its training practices. You will ensure that agreed delivery processes are being followed.
Key Responsibilities
We will need you to….
Plan and implement accreditation of post registration veterinary nurse programmes, specifically:
Liaise with the Senior Qualifications Officer, coordinating dates and developing appropriate agendas
Quality monitor university delivery sites, providing reports to support accreditation activities.
Review and report on accreditation applications and evidence submitted.
Attend and contribute to pre-accreditation meetings and accreditation events.
Collaborate with accreditation panel members, collating and preparing accreditation reports
Devise, agree and monitor action plans in relation to the above accreditation activities
Support the accreditation of licence to practise programmes, specifically:
Undertake quality monitoring of delivery sites and training practices when necessary, providing reports to support accreditation activities.
Plan, implement and monitor quality assurance activities for Accredited Educational Institutions (AEI) awarding licence to practise and post registration veterinary nurse programmes, specifically:
Devise quality monitoring activities in line with the quality monitoring schedules, considering the individual AEI risk rating.
Undertake progress reviews, delivery site and Training Practice audits along with stake holder interviews, and auditing of the RCVS Day One Skills and Professional Behaviours and complete the relevant report.
Devise, agree and monitor action plans in relation to the above quality monitoring activities.
In collaboration with the Qualifications Team, following the risk rating process, devise, plan, implement, monitor, and review the quality monitoring schedule of activity and rag rating for AEI licence to practise programmes.
Fostering and building relationships with AEIs and other stakeholders.
Provide reports and recommendations, to the relevant committees, on the outcome of the support and advisory visits along with outcomes of all quality monitoring activities you are involved with.

Work with relevant teams and VN colleagues to manage review and update policies and procedures ensuring existing processes align with our strategic objectives.
Attend and contribute to both professional and public facing events where necessary.
Work with relevant teams and VN colleagues to ensure website and RCVS Academy content relating to veterinary nursing is up-to-date and relevant.
Maintain your continued Professional development in respect to quality assurance and auditing practices.
Carry out any other relevant tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Director of Veterinary Nursing.
Essential Criteria
Familiarity with the principles of professional regulation.
Knowledge and experience of regulatory frameworks and implementing quality assurance systems.
Knowledge and experience of current national veterinary nursing standards.
Experience of delivering veterinary nurse education.
Familiarity with the work and policies of higher education related to national agencies/government bosies. For example, Office for Students (OfS), the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
Good professional standing.
Qualifications
Registered veterinary nurse.
Educated to at least degree level.
Hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised quality assurance qualification.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Excellent time management and proven ability to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
Proven ability to work autonomously and manage own workload
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and with varying technical backgrounds.
Experience of quality monitoring
Experience of working as part of a team and willingness to provide support to colleagues.
Effective problem solving skills and ability to determine solution based approaches.
Ability to interpret and identify significant issues from large amounts of complex information.
Diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues.
Desired skills & experience
Educated to post graduate level.
Hold a recognised teaching qualification.
Experience of working within a professional regulatory body, awarding organisation, and/or higher educational environment.
Experience in maintaining risk registers.
Experience of curriculum development.
